Welcome

My name is Sabreena. I am an on-location, natural light photographer. My passion is capturing the natural interactions of families and turning them into lasting memories and pieces of art. Photographs have a way of bringing us back to a time or place that can be easily forgotten.

As the owner of Photography by Sabreena, I want to provide you with the ultimate Custom Photography experience. This means that I travel to you and take the photographs in a location where you and your family are most comfortable - thus resulting in natural, relaxed, and fun family portraits. I specialize in maternity, newborn, children, family, high school senior, and engagement portraits.

Below you will find samples of recent sessions, fun facts about myself and my family, and an assortment of other random fun "stuff". I really enjoy receiving comments, so please let me know you are out there!

Enjoy, and please don't hesitate to contact me. EMAIL: pbsabreena(at)gmail.com

Thankful Thursday… {Photography by Sabreena – Michigan Child Portrait Photographer}

4 years…where in the world did they go?!?

My baby girl is turning 4 tomorrow and I can not express how thankful and blessed I am for every year of her life. She is my “girly-girl”, my lovey girl, my tantrum girl, my outgoing girl, my independent girl. For all the challenges she throws at me, she gives me reasons that make me equally thankful that she is mine. I love you baby girl!

And yes, I am crying right now. ;)

More Fall Fun…{Photography by Sabreena – Michigan Family Portrait Photographer}

I can’t begin to express what a wonderful fall season this has been for photographs. There are still so many lovely spots out there too…now if only I could get my family to cooperate for a family photo! :D We attempted an impromptu family photo this past weekend that consisted of the camera on the tripod and me pushing the timer button then running to jump in the photo. Our 3 (almost 4) year old insisted on making a different silly face in every photo and the dogs butt was toward the camera for most of the photos. It is quite funny actually….if I get brave I may post the out-takes just for a laugh. It just goes to show how important it is to hire someone else to take your families portraits! We are going to do professional photos this coming spring, but I was hoping to get just 1 for my Christmas card this year since I totally dropped the ball last year and did not send anything out.

This family, on the other hand, was a total joy to photograph. Mrs. “O” was given a gift certificate from her friends for this family session….one of the best gifts you can give in my honest opinion! ;) It is such an honor to have at least 4 other families, that I can think of, all connected in some way to this family. Referrals are the biggest compliment I can get as a small business owner. So, a big THANK YOU to all those families that send me referrals…you know who you are ;)

Brotherly Love… {Photography by Sabreena – Michigan Family Portrait Photographer}

I love this family! It is such an honor that not only do they call me every year to capture memories of their 2 sweet boys, they also refer all their friends to Photography by Sabreena. Thank you “H Family” for being such loyal client’s.

Being the mom of two girls, it is so fun to photograph these two boys, who are ALL boy! My #1 rule about family photography is that we must end it by letting go and having some fun…and that is usually when the best photos happen. I don’t want having family portraits to be traumatizing in any way to kids or parents for that matter. I want them to leave the session saying,  “That was fun! When can we do that again?!?” Then I know I have done my job ;)

Fall Fun! {Photography by Sabreena – Michigan Children Portrait Photographer}

I know I have dropped off the face of my blog yet again…I am so sorry about that! I strongly encourage you to checkout my facebook page if you are missing my blog posts. I tend to post a bit more on there because it takes less time. It seems time is a precious commodity these days, worth its weight in gold – yet I am so very thankful and blessed to be so very busy this fall season. I am not going to chat much right now…maybe in another post…but there IS so much to “chat” about. Keep an eye out ;)

Family K – What can I say…beautiful location, beautiful family, and so much love between them. Thank you for allowing me to capture this special time in your family’s life!

Sweet Girl – 2 year old portraits {Photography by Sabreena – Michigan Children Portrait Photographer}

Before I show the beautiful photos of this sweet girl I want to say that I am going to be adding “Pet Photography” to my specialties and portfolio. If you have a cherished pet family member that you would love to have photographed please contact me for a portfolio building special I am going to be running for a couple weeks. Just as for the Pet Photography Special.

I have to stay that I really love this family and love that I have had the opportunity to see their 3 kids grow through their photo sessions. This was sweet Miss “K” 2 year portrait session. I have a lot of favorites from this session, however, these were just the first couple photos I grabbed to blog. I will post some more of them in a later blog post.

Newborn Boy Portraits {Photography by Sabreena – Lansing, Michigan; Newborn Portrait Photographer}

I love photographing newborns. I love photographing newborns with their families even more! I love capturing those special moments, those special glances, and the love that radiates from them. Every new parent radiates love for their new child, but these two parents especially. It was such an awesome thing to see their love for each other as well as their love for their brand new little boy.

This first image was totally unposed. I had actually told them that I was zooming the photos in on the baby so they could relax for a moment. When I went to zoom out I saw the look they had for each other and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to capture it. Thank you “K” family for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your lives.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. ~ Psalm 139:14

Brighton, Michigan High School Senior Portraits {Photography by Sabreena – High School Senior Portrait Photographer}

Almost all of my high school senior clients tell me that they chose Photography by Sabreena because they wanted something different then the traditional studio portraits. They want the photos to be natural and to really reflect their personality. This is what I strive to accomplish with my high school senior portraits. I want every persons portraits to be unique and really show who they are at this point in their lives. After all, isn’t the whole point of a photograph to capture a memory?

This young woman is truly a beautiful person, inside and out. She is my wonderful senior representative from Brighton High School.

Beautiful Family Portraits {Photography by Sabreena – Detroit Michigan Family Photographer}

It has been such a great honor to be asked back year after year to photograph this beautiful family. It is not too early to start thinking about booking a session for holiday/Christmas card photos. I know that it isn’t even August yet so that seems like such a far stretch, however, weekends are booking up very quickly. I am still finalizing the cards I will be offering this year. As soon as I have them all, I will post a preview of them.
