Senior Representative {Photography by Sabreena - High School Senior Portrait Photographer ; Howell, Michigan}

I love high school seniors, and I seem to be so blessed at getting to photograph the most down to earth and beautiful (both inside and out) young people! If you are an upcoming senior at Howell High School look for Stephanie who will be handing out her representative cards. If you show her card when you book a session you will get a set of 56 wallets complimentary.

Here are some photos from her mini session. Look for her full session later in the summer…

Christmas Card & Holiday Card Sessions {Howell, Michigan; Photography by Sabreena}

In this economy most everyone’s focus has turned from wanting everything regardless of cost, to wanting good products at a fair or discounted price. I have recently been turned on to coupon shopping. Initially I was very frustrated by the task of juggling coupons, kids, and the shopping cart, not to mention my shopping list and the grocery ad. I was about ready to give up on the idea, however, I had been completely inspired to make an effort to try and do this after seeing how much money could truly be saved. I took some time last night and put together a binder using sheet protectors made to hold business cards. Each slot holds a different kind of coupon. I made my shopping trip this morning and to my surprise I had a savings of 53%!!! I was sooo excited, but I know I can do even better next time!

I think also in this economy that we are re-focusing on what is most important to us and for most of us it is our families. I truly believe that capturing family portraits is so important because our families are ever growing, ever shrinking….ever changing. I photograph newborns all the time and it makes me realize how hard it is to even remember my own children when they were that tiny. That is usually when I need to pull out the albums to remind myself that, yes, they were that small and to remind me how fleeting every moment is.

I have been blessed with keeping very busy this summer and now fall. My schedule is almost completely booked until November. I would like to squeeze in a Christmas/Holiday card special, however, for those bargain shoppers out there that realize the importance to family portraits, but would also like to save some money.

I wanted to focus my special this year not only on cards, but also in gift giving. Why not tackle a few Christmas gifts in the process of having your portraits taken?

2009 Holiday Special - $200 (Value of $330)

* 1 hr. portrait session (location to be determined)

* 1 - 8×10 print

* 2 - 5×7 gift prints

* 16 - wallets (2 poses)

* 24 - two sided Christmas/Holiday Cards

And because I can not have a post without a photo, here are two sisters and their sweet dog…

Book now for the future… {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Photographer}

I have two main messages for this post. The first is to let everyone know that I was looking at my calendar and dates are filling up quick. I have 3 newborns due in May and 2 in June in addition to the weddings, family sessions, and childrens session.

Class of 2010, PLEASE don’t wait to book your sessions. You may think it is too early to schedule your senior photography, however, prime dates and times are going quickly.

If you are pregnant and would like to have Photography by Sabreena photograph your maternity and/or newborn session, please contact me as soon as possible. If I know when a newborn is due then I can make sure to leave some openings during that time.

My second purpose for this post is to wish everyone a Blessed Holy week and Easter Sunday. I have been so blessed with my family; my husband, who is my biggest supporter and my two beautiful girls who fill my days with endless giggles and chaos. Please remember the reason for this most holy week of the year.

The photo below was taken a year ago. I was given a challenge of a photo contest. I don’t remember the quote, but it was something about the present bringing us back to the past. This photo can be interpeted many different ways, however, my vision was of myself praying as a child and myself praying as an adult, and although I have changed, the action always remains the same…me giving thanks to my Lord.

Family & Football; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

Well, silly me, I was not thinking about this weekend being the first big Football weekend (even though my husband has been talking about it for weeks). This poor family drove 1 & 1/2 hours and on top of that had to brave the Michigan State tailgaters to have some family portraits done at the Michigan State Children’s Gardens. It was all worth it though! ;)

This little girl is such a doll! I could have taken photos of her all day!

Sweet Survivor! - Michigan Photographer

This little girl has more spirit, more spunk, more wisdom then any young person I have ever met. I have written posts about Ms. Carly in the past. She is the youngest cancer survivor that I have had the pleasure of meeting. You can read about her story from her mom here:

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/babycarly

As I sit here I can not even find the words to express the honor I felt in being able to meet Carly and her family. They have been through so much in Carly’s 2 years. For Carly it is normal to be visited by doctors and nurses and that is exactly who she figured I was. It was so sweet when she would say, “Nurse, come sit here”. But with all of the highs and lows that this family has been through, more then anything, it was so evident the love they have for each other.

One other thing about Carly…..She is a GENIUS! She had my camera figured out in about 2 seconds. I showed her 1 time how to view the photos on the back and it wasn’t long before she had figured out the functions of the other buttons as well.

If you would like to help in any way, you can purchase bracelets off of her website (listed above) to help cover medical bills.
