Mini Engagement Session; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

This is the wonderful couple that let my daughter ride their horses. It was such a fabulous time! We also did a mini engagement photo shoot. I am hoping to go out in the spring for another engagement shoot and include some of their horses in the photos as well.

I had fun playing with some textures on these ;)

Sarah rides a horse…; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

What a wonderful day we had as a family on Saturday!!! One of Sarah’s biggest dreams came true today….no, she didn’t become one of the Disney Princesses and meet prince charming and get married an live ‘happily ever after’ - as she tells me she will one day….but she DID get to ride a horse!

In preparation for this day, I asked her what color she thought the horse would be, and in her very sweet and completely serious tone of voice she stated, “PINK!” :D

Well, the horse wasn’t pink, but he was a pretty amazing and VERY gentle guy!

And finally getting to ride all by herself!

Notice the look of pure joy on her face in every single one of these shots?!? It was an amazing thing to watch. And in case you were wondering where Shay is (who will be 1 on Tuesday by the way :( ) She was in the barn being entertained by the barn cats! :)

I also did a few engagement photos for Matty and Tyler, but I will save those for their own special post.

Urban Princess; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

YEAH! YES I AM SHOUTING WITH JOY! :D

My wonderful neighbor totally gets my style and trusts me, which is both wonderful and scary.

Her 3 year old has such a great personality and is such a joy to photograph, however, she is 3 years old and has endless amounts of energy like most 3 year olds. Anyone that says that photography is an easy job has not photographed many 3 year olds! To me I love the challenge of waiting for just the right moment to snap the shutter.

I don’t usually show out-takes, but to prove my point I had just a half second to capture this shot:

And this is the shot that directly followed:

I love doing urban shoots because it gives me an excuse to play with some textures. Here are some more from the day.

Wedding a the Capital; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

I had the honor of photographing my friends wedding a week ago. It was the most beautiful weekend at one of the best locations for photographs - The State of Michigan’s Capital in Lansing, Michigan.

I also had the pleasure of having my second shooter for the wedding be one of my great friends Leah of LCH Photography

I have SO many favorites from this wedding so I think I am going to randomly return to my blog to post some more previews as I am able to get them edited, but for now, here are just the first few I was able to edit.

Beautiful Family; Brighton, MI - Photographer

I was so excited to be asked to photograph this beautiful couple, their dogs, and their family. They have a lovely piece of property that they will be building on next year and I have my fingers crossed that I will get to do another portrait for them with their new house ;)

A Wedding & 2 Families; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

It was such a perfect weekend for photography. I know my bride from this weekend had been checking the weather faithfully every day and praying for nice weather on her wedding day - and blessed we were.

The wedding went off without a hitch and I am SO excited about the shot I got as well as what my second shooter got. I promise, Kerri, I will be posting some soon.

On top the wedding I had 2 other family portrait sessions and my Nieces college hockey game at Michigan State University. It was a BUSY weekend for sure!

So my friend Kerri is off to Jamaica, and although I don’t doubt that she will be checking the blog, while on her trip, for a preview, I am going to make her wait just a little longer. I am going to post a HUGE preview and need time to get them processed just right.

But here are a few quick previews for another great friend of mine. I had 3 objectives in mind with this session. (1) get great individual shots of her 3 boys, (2) get a great shot of all 3 boys together, and (3) get a great, fun family shot.

I am pretty happy with what I got! :D I was having such a great time with the boys and It was funny because my friends husband made the comment, “This is better then an amusement park!” That is a first for me :D

Last High School Senior of the Year; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

That is unless there are any seniors out there that need some last minute photos ;)

This is another great senior with such a great personality. We had beautiful weather for the session and great fall colors!

Sentimental ; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

So I know I have one person anticipating a preview and I promise to have it up tomorrow, but tonight I started feeling very sentimental. My baby is going to be turning 1 in just a couple weeks.

Where has the time gone?!? Ok….I am not going to cry ;)

Here are a few snaps I took of her today. Every time I see her sleeping so soundly in her crib it makes me want to grab my camera. She took a nap and I knew I was going to have to wake her up if I wanted her to sleep through the night later. I figured since I was going to be waking her up anyway that it would be safe to take some snaps.

Then we went to the front door (I love front door light!) and snapped a few more. Look at those cute legs and toes! :D

Baby Lydia ; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

I am so excited for the pending birth of this little girl. She is truly blessed to be born to such wonderful and loving parents. I know when your pregnant and especially at the end of your pregnancy, having your picture taken is probably the LAST thing you want to think about, but let me tell you from experience that it is so much fun to look back and show your child the photos of when they were “in your belly”.
Not to mention time and children have a way of wiping the memory of being pregnant out.

Every detail has been thought of for this little one and I am SO excited about taking newborn photos of her. She will also have 2 pugs waiting to great her - Mead & Moosey (sorry if I spelled those wrong ;) )

Moosey wasn’t in the mood to have his picture taken, but Mead was all about the pictures! Doesn’t it look like she is already protecting this little girl before she is even born?!? I love it!
