*** RELAY FOR LIFE SPECIAL *** {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan}

***RELAY FOR LIFE SPECIAL***

I am so excited and proud to be a part of my churches team (Heart of the Shepherd) for Relay for Life this year. To help raise money for my team and to stomp out cancer I am running a special:

Book and pay the sitting fee for a session by May 14th and 1/2 of the sitting fee ($50) will go toward the American Cancer Society and you will get the other 1/2 ($50) credited toward prints. Your session can be scheduled anytime in the next year, however, the sitting fee must be paid by May 14th to take advantage of this special. This is an awesome way to help out a good cause as well as get a little something special for yourself. Please hurry, dates are limited and are filling up fast!

What is my reason for Relay??? I can not count on my fingers and toes alone the number of people I have seen suffer through, survive through, and/or pass from this horrible disease. The American Cancer Society has helped to fund so many Nobel Prize winners that have made huge breakthroughs in this battle. I don’t want my 2 girls to have to be touched by cancer any more in their life time and this is my way to try and stomp it out.

Please feel free to visit my personal Relay page; Even the smallest donation can make the biggest difference.

Thank you!

Last Urban Winter Session (hopefully) {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan}

I am so done with winter and so ready for spring (as most people are I think); However, I was so excited to shoot photos of this little guy again. Last time I saw him was in the fall and it is amazing how much he has grown since then. It also amazes me how oblivious to the cold kids are; as long as there is snow there is plenty of fun to be had.

We met up in the very cute down town area of Northville, Michigan. We may have only been outside for a short period of time for one of my Mini Urban Winter sessions, but it was so worth it. I usually turn at least a couple of photos black & white because I love the timelessness of them. However, I am just loving the colors of this session so much that I can’t bring myself turn any black and white.

Beautiful Family! {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan}

It was so worth driving over to Macomb county to photograph such a beautiful family! This sweet little guy is turning 1 in just a couple weeks and will be baptized on his birthday. He is also going to become a big brother to a little sister in just a few short months.

Here are just a handful of my favorite photos from the session.

California Dreaming {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan}

So my brother came to visit this past week with his fiance from California. They got engaged just this past Valentine’s Day….SO romantic! Of course, anytime they come to visit Michigan there just happens to be a big snow storm that blows in. I had big plans for engagement photos that were blown away with the arrival of said snow storm :( I really hate when I have a creative vision and then I don’t get to try it out! Maybe I will just have to go visit them in sunny California to do a more proper engagement session ;)

Check out the wedding site, LS Wedding Photography, for the details regarding a special we are running.

Speaking of weddings, please contact us as soon as possible if you are looking for a photographer. We already have April, June, and August booked.

And because I can’t write a post without photos, here are a few snaps I took this weekend of my brother and his fiance.

Sweet Baby N {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan}

This sweet little guy is 4 months old and looks so much like a little man. He was so good the whole time I was there…I couldn’t have asked for anything more. This is a tough age because babies are learning to coordinate their movements, but it is so rewarding when you can capture such sweet moments.

I can’t resist baby toes!

And this little guy shows his love for him mommy so openly!

Last, but not least, dad is a huge sports fan and I think these photos show that Baby N is going to follow in his dad’s footsteps! (My Ohio friends are going to love this first one)

Happy Valentines Baby {Photography by Sabreena; Lansing, Michigan}

Well, sweet baby M was not born on Valentine’s day, however, we did take her photos the day before valentines; So, I felt it only fitting to bring out my red bobble blanket. Baby M is such a beautiful baby who slept from the time I got there until the time I left. She was an absolute dream to work with and I could have literally stayed their all day taking photos of her. I have a TON to edit, but here are just the first couple that I grabbed.

Daddy Daughter Dance {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan)

Howell has this great tradition of the daddy/daughter dance. It is a really big deal and next year I am for sure signing my husband and daughter up. This wonderful dad is going to be taking his sweet girl. It has become a yearly tradition for them (although last year it was snowed out). I was so lucky to be able to take some photos of them in their evening wear attire. Thankfully the Michigan weather decided to give us a break, and although it was a tad windy, the balmy almost 60 degree weather was just perfect for the occasion.

Ms. H, I truly believe you are going to be famous some day. You are beautiful, a great dance, and wonderful at holding a conversation! Have fun at your dance tomorrow!

Winter Engagement - South Lyon Michigan {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Photographer}

I had so much anticipation building for this shoot because I knew it was at a historical train station in South Lyon, Michigan called the Witches Hat Train Depot and also because this bride-to-be is someone after my own heart. In our first contact she told me she was looking for someone as creative as her, since she is a dancer, to take her engagement photographs.

My creative juices were definitely flowing for this one and I actually had to get up 3 time the night before to write down ideas for poses that popped into my head. In my head I was picturing something out of a 1950’s movie with a young couple madly in love. I felt that to achieve that feel some vintage textures would be called for in the post processing.

This couple is truly in love and it is one of the many reasons why I love engagement sessions SO much; It takes very little direction to show that this couple is meant to be together. I am just going to post a couple today…I may post a few more as I get them edited.

Okay, so you caught me…I had a hard time again choosing what to show because I love so many of them. We also did something kind of fun at the end of the session and I have put it together in a flip book style slideshow…

Baby M {Michigan Newborn Photographer}

Sweet baby M! She was so wonderful to me, so easy going, even when awake. I could have stayed all day taking photos of her! So I always have the problem of picking just a few to post on the blog. I am sorry to say this, but I am turning into my mother…not that it is a bad thing…except for the fact that she is the most indecisive person I know (and she will tell you the same thing) :D - Love you mom! :D

Anyway, I finally had to pick a couple and this is what I came up with. In addition to the photos below, I am going to post a storyboard, but I am saving that for tomorrow.

This photo was inspired by a photographer friend from Australia - Kelly Vella Photography

The quilt they are laying on is made out of the mother’s wedding gown. The most creative use of a wedding dress I have ever seen and SO beautiful as a quilt!
