You can see this sweet girls first session here:
I can hardly believe that it has been a year since her newborn session. This girl LOVES to smile and that totally made my job easy!

She did give me one pouty face though to tell me she was done…what a doll!

It is an amazing thing that I have photographed these two girls since they were in their mom’s tummy…I truly love my job and that I get to witness these amazing little people growing up!

This last photo maybe should have been in the “out-take” file….but it really spoke to me. To me this photo is the true representation of what it means to be a sister…to be there to comfort your sister through it all

So much sweetness is such a little person. I could have spent the entire day photographing this sweet little person and her beautiful family!
I don’t seem to have many words today so I will just let the photos speak for themselves…

I was packaging up the goodies for our most recent married couple and took a few snaps of what they are getting. There is the beautiful leather case with a CD of all the photos from their most special day. There is a beautiful matching leather box with 100 prints inside and that comes in a beautiful silk/satin pouch. The extra boxes with the red ribbon are the remainder of the prints they get with their package.

When you have kids there are always so many “firsts”. First tooth, first step, first word….first day of kindergarten…and now the first “Daddy-Daughter Dance”. My sweet girl has been so excited all week for this and even included it in her prayers last night as something she is so very grateful for.

And because I can post a photo of one without the other, here is my baby…she looks SOO much like her dad!

I have a newborn and a 1 year old session this weekend so be on the look out for those posts…coming soon!
Some images need no words at all…

So, it goes without saying that these are tough times. I think we needed these tough times though and even though it is often hard to see the “bigger picture”, I think that in the end we are heading to a better place in our lives.
We have been pinching pennies in our family, just as many of you are. I have taken a coupon class from a church friend of mine and have been getting excited to see how much I can save with each shopping trip. I have cut my monthly grocery bill by 50%…that is HUGE!
We have also been finding other ways to save money, such as not eating out. This has resulted in skinnier waste lines as well as a great time to do a family devotional after each meal. What a great way to get more quality time with the family!
In all of this cutting back I have come to realize how important the little things in life are. It makes me realize how important photographs are in my life as well. I have been taking time to preserve some of my grandfather’s photos from World War II and have been teaching my girls a bit of history in the process.
Then I realized, my girls are MY history. I am a mom! Some day my grandchildren will be looking at photos of me and my children and reminiscing about the “good old days”.
This is why I feel so passionately about my work. I am taking portraits of your children, family, and loved ones and turning them into art. I am preserving this time in your lives to remember for all time.
I know these are tough times, however, I know how precious your portraits are. I would like to offer a special discount for anyone who booked and ordered portraits from a session in 2009. If you had a session in 2009 and have already placed at least one order from that session, then you can receive 25% off any additional reprints ordered between February and May 2010.
And because I can not have a post without photos, here are some portraits of my neighbor’s beautiful children:

Many of you already know that I partner up with an amazing photographer for weddings. I had a wedding in January with her and it was so fun to work with her and this wonderful couple.
This couple had many challenges to overcome on their special day, including the groom not feeling too well on his special day. He was such a trooper that hardly anyone even noticed. Having a wedding in the winter presents with many challenges, including the lack of daylight and warmth available for outdoor photographs as in most weddings. I think it is those challenges that made this wedding so special and unforgettable. I have several new favorites between Leah and I that we took. The collection below is a combination of her photographs and mine.

Okay…Okay…Okay…
I have had several people telling me that they have noticed my “blogging” slowing down and that they are none to happy about it (which is a HUGE compliment - Thank you to those people, you know who you are). Sometimes it is hard to get motivated to sit down at the computer and think of something to say, when you aren’t sure if anyone really reads it anyway *wink, wink*; Not to mention I am about neck deep in tax preparations - YUCK!
I feel like I finally have some exciting things to post about though so look for those coming soon.
To kick things off right I want to share my most recent session:
I was so excited to meet this wonderful couple and their sweet bloodhound, Lucy! I love photographing pregnant couples even more then engagement couples; Their love has tripled with the miracle of a new life. (Just a warning, there is going to be a bit of image overload…I had WAY too many favorites from this session!)

Last but not least, their first baby - Lucy:
