1 Year Old {Photography by Sabreena; Michigan Child Portrait Photographer}

What do I love about my job? EVERYTHING!

I love that I get to see newborns grow into toddlers and toddlers grow into little people. I love getting to know such wonderful families.  I love that I am not just “a photographer”, but I become friends with these families.

This family is a perfect example of how blessed I feel to meet the people I do through my job. They truly “get” the importance of family and how quickly things can change. They understand the importance of capturing the special moments in photographs. I just want to say Thank You to these wonderful parents & Happy Anniversary! :)

So this session was to mark Ms. “A”s 1st year and her baptism. The first 2 photos are from her newborn session to show you how much she has grown up in such a short time…

I love this big girl of 10lbs! She has the cutest cheeks and most beautiful lips. And it is easy to see where she gets her beauty from…

Baby Boy “L” {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Newborn Photographer}

This sweet boy did not want to miss a minute of his first photo session by sleeping it away; But who was I to complain when he was such a great baby!! I have some amazing photos with him awake…and a few sleeping shot, but the family photos are the ones that really spoke to me from this session.

I couldn’t help but edit these two right away. I just loved the way they turned out!

9 Years {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Family Portrait Photographer}

Today is my  9 year wedding anniversary! I can’t believe 9 years have gone by so quickly, which is a total testimony to my wonderful husband. We have been through our share of ups and downs in our life, but each year our marriage has gotten stronger and stronger. I think this is a testimony to our love and our faith.

Thank you Steve for being a wonderful son, brother, uncle, father, husband, and most importantly my best friend!

I ♥ You!

Baby Wyatt {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Newborn Photographer}

This big guy got to see me twice…The first day we attempted the session and there ended up being horrible thunderstorms and it was black as night, which doesn’t make natural light photography very easy ;)

The second session was perfect! Beautiful day, perfectly behaved boy (except for peeing all over mom, oops). :D

Mine on Monday {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Children and Family Photographer}

I am always looking for new parenting tips and tricks when it comes to my kids and I am so very excited about this new idea I am trying with Sarah (6 years old). It is actually based around a program that Dave Ramsey recommends to help kids learn about money and about saving, spending and giving in a smart way.

She has a goal that she has set for herself to save enough money to purchase a Hello Kitty Scooter. We printed up a picture of it and taped it to her saving jar. Her spending jar is for the little everyday thing…like if the ice cream man drives by and she wants something. The giving jar is for giving to our church or another charity of her choice.

We just started the program of the jars this week, but she has been earning money for a couple of weeks now by doing her weekly jobs. That is why there isn’t much in the spending jar yet. She made the decision to put everything she has earned so far into the saving jar.

She earns her money by completing her weekly jobs. If she doesn’t complete her job, then she doesn’t earn her money for that day, (teaching her the importance of hard work hopefully). It is a very visual program, which is great for her. We even sat down and figure out how long it will take her to save up the rest of the money for her scooter if she does all her work (4 weeks).

My 2 year old even showed an interest when we were setting up the jars; Although, her long term goal is saving a penny to ride the horse at Meijer on our weekly shopping trip :D

The other fun project we are doing at our house is starting our first ever garden. I have a black thumb, so it should be interesting to see how this turns out. ;)

Pictured below are some of the tomato plants that we have started. Most everything else has been transferred to the garden and if they actually produce any vegetables I will be sure to show some photos!

Baby Girl Charlie {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Newborn Photographer}

I want to start by giving a “Thank you” to all those that prayed for baby Lola and to let you know that she is home safe and sound and doing wonderful!

Psalm 139:13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.

I also want to introduce another new baby girl - Charlie. Before I show any photographs however, I need to say that I have no biases toward Michigan or Michigan State. In fact I have ties to both schools and have photographed babies in both school colors ;)
