I hate to post and run, however, life is completely crazy right now with photo sessions, editing, and life as a mom….
Soooo….Here is sweet little “K”. I can’t believe that just a year ago she was a newborn and now she is a little independent person with the sweetest smile ever!
This family was so sweet! These parents have their hands full with these busy 1 year olds, but it is so amazing and so sweet to watch these two little people discovering the world around them. Around every corner there was something new and amazing to explore.
I purchased a “Gratitude Journal” from Paper Source last Christmas for myself, with the intention of writing in it ‘almost’ everyday. A lot of times my good intentions fall by the wayside when life’s everyday activities fill up my schedule. After re-organizing my office I came across the journal again and decided I would try again and make this part of my work routine.
What I have found is that it is easy to write about what you are grateful for when the kids are being perfect angels, when the laundry is all caught up, when a trip to the grocery store goes exactly as planned. On the flip side, it is hard to write about being grateful when things are not going as expected.
I have also learned that it is MORE important to write down what I am grateful for on these more challenging, less then perfect days. Below is a recent entry example…
June 26, 2010
Yes, my kids seem to be in a constant state of war with each other; And the words “That’s Enough! Do NOT look at each other, Do NOT touch each other, Do NOT say a WORD to each other until you have something nice to say!” seem to be a tape recorded message coming out of my mouth every couple hours.
But I have two healthy, generally happy and well behaved little girls who know that their parents love them no matter what. That is what I am thankful for today; That and nap time!
Okay, On to the pictures. The pictures fall into another category of thankfulness. I am SO VERY grateful for the friends that I have made at my wonderful church (Heart of the Shepherd). This family makes me smile every time I come in contact with them and what a wonderful gift to give to another person!
So without further adieu here is a beautiful slide-show and a few of my favorites from the session…
The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring. ~Bern Williams
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens
It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want - oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain
No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. ~Proverb
It is an amazing thing that I have photographed these two girls since they were in their mom’s tummy…I truly love my job and that I get to witness these amazing little people growing up!
This last photo maybe should have been in the “out-take” file….but it really spoke to me. To me this photo is the true representation of what it means to be a sister…to be there to comfort your sister through it all
When you have kids there are always so many “firsts”. First tooth, first step, first word….first day of kindergarten…and now the first “Daddy-Daughter Dance”. My sweet girl has been so excited all week for this and even included it in her prayers last night as something she is so very grateful for.
And because I can post a photo of one without the other, here is my baby…she looks SOO much like her dad!
I have a newborn and a 1 year old session this weekend so be on the look out for those posts…coming soon!
I wanted to let everyone know that I have moved to Fowlerville from Howell, but I am still serving all of Michigan. I wanted to share a few recent snaps of my girls. My oldest turns 6 next weekend and I can hardly believe it. Before I know it we will be doing her senior portraits!
When my girls said, “Mom we want to play dress up and then have you take our pictures” how could I say “no”?!?
And here is my Karate girl…she is getting her yellow belt this weekend and we are so proud of her!
