Winter Wedding{LS Wedding Photography - Michigan Wedding Photographers}

Many of you already know that I partner up with an amazing photographer for weddings. I had a wedding in January with her and it was so fun to work with her and this wonderful couple.

This couple had many challenges to overcome on their special day, including the groom not feeling too well on his special day. He was such a trooper that hardly anyone even noticed. Having a wedding in the winter presents with many challenges, including the lack of daylight and warmth available for outdoor photographs as in most weddings. I think it is those challenges that made this wedding so special and unforgettable. I have several new favorites between Leah and I that we took. The collection below is a combination of her photographs and mine.

Engagement Session at U of M {Photography by Sabreena; Ann Arbor, Michigan - Engagement Photographer}

This beautiful couple was so sweet to show me around the campus of the University of Michigan, and what a BEAUTIFUL campus it is!! I have so so many favorite photos from this session and I am so thrilled that I will be photographing their upcoming wedding.

Blessed Day of Marriage…..

not to mention FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!

It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for these two wonderful people to get married. I have so many images to share that it is going to take a couple posts.

Some of my favorite images to capture are the details of the day. The day comes and goes so fast that it is the little things that we quickly forget.

Last but not least for today….

This was the neatest idea that I have heard of and it came from the bride. They wanted to follow tradition of not “Seeing” each other before the ceremony….however, we found a corner of the church where we were able to put the groom on one side and the bride on the other so they were able to hold hands and talk to each other just a couple minutes ahead of time. It was the sweetest moment ever!

California Dreaming {Photography by Sabreena - Howell, Michigan}

So my brother came to visit this past week with his fiance from California. They got engaged just this past Valentine’s Day….SO romantic! Of course, anytime they come to visit Michigan there just happens to be a big snow storm that blows in. I had big plans for engagement photos that were blown away with the arrival of said snow storm :( I really hate when I have a creative vision and then I don’t get to try it out! Maybe I will just have to go visit them in sunny California to do a more proper engagement session ;)

Check out the wedding site, LS Wedding Photography, for the details regarding a special we are running.

Speaking of weddings, please contact us as soon as possible if you are looking for a photographer. We already have April, June, and August booked.

And because I can’t write a post without photos, here are a few snaps I took this weekend of my brother and his fiance.

Winter Engagement - South Lyon Michigan {Photography by Sabreena - Michigan Photographer}

I had so much anticipation building for this shoot because I knew it was at a historical train station in South Lyon, Michigan called the Witches Hat Train Depot and also because this bride-to-be is someone after my own heart. In our first contact she told me she was looking for someone as creative as her, since she is a dancer, to take her engagement photographs.

My creative juices were definitely flowing for this one and I actually had to get up 3 time the night before to write down ideas for poses that popped into my head. In my head I was picturing something out of a 1950’s movie with a young couple madly in love. I felt that to achieve that feel some vintage textures would be called for in the post processing.

This couple is truly in love and it is one of the many reasons why I love engagement sessions SO much; It takes very little direction to show that this couple is meant to be together. I am just going to post a couple today…I may post a few more as I get them edited.

Okay, so you caught me…I had a hard time again choosing what to show because I love so many of them. We also did something kind of fun at the end of the session and I have put it together in a flip book style slideshow…

Wedding a the Capital; Howell, Michigan - Photographer

I had the honor of photographing my friends wedding a week ago. It was the most beautiful weekend at one of the best locations for photographs - The State of Michigan’s Capital in Lansing, Michigan.

I also had the pleasure of having my second shooter for the wedding be one of my great friends Leah of LCH Photography

I have SO many favorites from this wedding so I think I am going to randomly return to my blog to post some more previews as I am able to get them edited, but for now, here are just the first few I was able to edit.

"Where there is great love, there are always miracles."

Engagement photographs have to be the easiest session for me to photograph. What can be easier than catching the natural bond that connects two people.

I wish I could express in words how difficult it was for me to choose just a few photos to share; I have sooooo many favorites.

Thank you both for letting me capture this special time in your lives, it truly was a blessing - and I LOVED meeting Lou!
